GPU memory question

I was hoping to upgrade my monitor to 3x 1920 x 1080 displays

I am currently running a 1GB AMD 6870
I am aware that 1GB wouldn't be nearly enough

I am looking for a GPU with the horsepower & the memory to drive 3 1080p displays for gaming
I could do with keeping costs low
I'd like good quality, like to be able to play ARMA III in surround with high textures and details
I understand everything has its' price but please try to keep things reasonable
Thank you,

Arma 3 maxed in Surround you're looking at a high end setup. A 4GB 680 or 7970 Boost. The problem with Surround is not only do you need copious amounts of VRAM but also the GPU horsepower to back it up. If your 6870 was something a little better I would say grab another one, but I'm 99% positive 6870 Crossfire won't do what you're asking.

To give an example, my GPU setup had some problems with 1080p Surround on certain games.

Would it be worth getting two AMD lower end higher VRAM cards and putting them into crossfire?

Thank you for the reply
