Hey there everyone i'm back with another anticipated purchase. I need a new PSU and it needs at least two 6-pin connectors to connect to my new GPU which is a monster, it can't take all it's needed power from the motherboard so it does need those duo 6pin connectors and i need one that'll fit my motherboard as well and here are my motherboard specs:
Motherboard
Chipset
AMD A85

CPU Type
A8-Series APU
CPU Speed
A8-5500(3.2GHz)
L2 Cache Per CPU
4MB
CPU Socket Type
FM2

picked up a 520 watt, works well so far with my 6870 works like a dream running SCII, WoW and Crysis 3. For a 2.0 chipset it runs well!

AMD recommends 600w or better
It depends on the rest of his components though.
I overestimated his components,
CPU-A8
RAM- 8GB DDR3
HDD- Standard 7200RPM
GPU- AMD Radeon 6870
DVD Drive
Fairly Decent gaming motherboard

= ~460 watts

So unless he has three hard drives, a $300 motherboard, & 16GB RAM, he should be fine with 520watts provided it's a quality PSU and not a cheapo (they tend to rarely see their maximum wattage).

just a recommendation from AMD.
If you ever have a problem with your video card and need to RMA it, the first thing they ask you is what brand and wattage is your power supply
(been there and done that)
