We have been having an issue with our HP CP3525n printer lately. We've had this printer running since 2009 and it hasn't given us any issues. We use this printer for billing so it's normal to run about 2000 pages in a single job.

Lately when we print, there will occassionally be a page that seems to be damaged by a print roller. This only happens in about 1 of every 20 or so pages. There is a picture attached to this post of what that damage looks like. After this problem began, we tried cleaning the print rollers to see if that would help but it didn't solve the progblem.

About a week after the damage to the pages began, the printer also started leaving a dark stripe on the paper. We tried cheaning the ink jets to solve this problem and it did make it better, but we're still left a faint shadow on our pages. There is a picture attached to this post of what that looks like.

At this point, we've had the printer too long for HP to provide us any assistance. Has anyone experienced any issues like this with their printers? If so, what can we do help solve the problems?

Did this start after installing a new toner cartridge?

You may have a bad one.

No, we haven't changed any of the ink recently. The ink streaks happened totally out of the blue. The lady who uses the printer the most, was running her prints when all of the sudden they came out with dark streaks of ink across the paper. After realizing it, she cancelled the job and cleaned the printer and the cartridges off. It did make the streaks better, but they're still faintly there.

Today she told me that they slowly get dark over time, and when that happens she has to clean them out again. Not sure what that means. My best guess is some sort of build-up.
