Need Avatar help

How do I get a custom Avatar? I'm sure your list of avatars are nice, but i would like something that defines me. How do I get a custom one if that is possible? Remember, I'm on a Mac, so instructions should be adjusted if you can.

How do i upload it? is there a button somewhere?

Okay, i found the button, uploaded an avatar, and i got this thing. what did i do wrong?

in addition to what anubis said,..you can also make your own( like my avatar),..just create an 80 x 80 image,...go to user cp (thats the control panel) and then click on to edit options,..instructions should be there,...then change avatar,...always remeber to click on "yes" under the use custom avatar before updating or submitting modifications
