DVD player is called DVD ProLine 1040
my tv is LG 50pv350T

when i push buttons on the DVD remote the TV thinks i am doing things. interference seems random.

when i try to enter commands to the DVD remote sometimes those commands are not received. i tell it to skip track for example, it will skip but will also bring up an error message on the TV interface saying "only available in TV input". when i press the DVD button "shuffle" to stop it repeating the same chapter of the DVD over and over it does not do it but the TV mute is switched on. the DVD audio button changes the TV input from AV to HDMI.... nearly everything on the DvD remote does something to the TV as well.
a couple of buttons on the LG tv remote act on the DVD player like the left arrow activates the DvD pause, the right arrow is the DvD slow motion button and so on.

can i retune my tv or something? i dont know what to do

this place seems so good!

The TV / DVD player or remotes are probably sharing codes in a way.

No you can't "re-tune" this. Easiest solution would be to just get a universal remote for either your TV or DVD player in place of the original factory one and see if it will work.

Otherwise... find a different DVD player.
