Buzzing sound

Occasionally I'll be on the internet and the hard drive makes the sound it does when it reboots, then it starts buzzing- the buzzing stops once I begin to shutdown.

There was a message during bootup, something about something being greater than the BIOS.

I assume its the hard drive but I'm also wondering if it's a fan.

Any ideas? It's a Compaq P4, recently upgraded the ram and video card.

I dont think HDD will produce that kind of sound. DVD produces some noise, so do fans. There is absolutely nothing to worry about.

Almost sounds like the DVD drive. Is it vibration?

There was a driver disc for the monitor inside. Since I've taken it out it hasn't occurred, so that was probably it.
