Hey guys, I need some help with my Acer aspire 5336. Bare in mind that my Laptop charger is 3+ years old and needs replacing anyway, but about 2-3 weeks ago I was on my laptop and long story short I Fell asleep sitting up and I was awoken a Few hours later by my Laptop Falling on The Floor. The hole-mechanism thing inside the laptop where you plug the charger in sorta bent the hole/plug and ever since that I've had to hold the charger in place in order For it to work. Recently my charger had been Failing and only charged when it wanted to.. Last night it completely Failed and won't charge at all and now whenever I try plug my charger into the laptop the charger Fuse-box thing makes a Funny noise sort of like its being short-Fused, and the green light on the charger goes out. I'm going to buy a replacement Battery anyway but I'm not sure if I need to also replace the Charger.. Also what about the charging mechanism inside the laptop? I guess whatever I do it doesn't matte too much seeing as it will be For no more than a month till I get my new computer. I'm going to call mu local repair specialist store tomorrow but I'm hoping that I can Forfit paying a huge bill For a repair store and do it myself with the advice here, If I get any that is.
Thanks!
I also wanted to ask, I can't link it atm as I'm on my iPod but my other question is, lets say if money didn't really matter, is a Palit GTX 660Ti GPU any worse than an EVGA SC brand one? I think there's some Clock different but they have the same Cores. For gaming etc will that matter?

Odds have it the contacts on the board are broke and pushing it in makes contact but it's arcing causing the sound and the light to go out. If this is the case they will need to take it apart and replace + re-solder the socket back in.

Palit is a 3rd party company much like Zotac is here. Would get the job done, but I wouldn't expect an RMA if you had to.

Oh I see, insurance. The Palit 660Ti is like, £30 cheaper than the other brand ones so I'll go with that, unless I get a defective part it hopefully won't need to be replaced.
