NEWBIE ARRIVAL - Help requested

Hello, all!

I am a newbie here, and I have signed up, because I am trying to find out what affordable SSD drives will work in my HP Elitebook 2740p. Just bought one, and it did not work, and there are no forums I have found that are relevant to this.

Does anyone have any information on this?

What SSD drive did you purchase?
What problem occurred to you which concluded to the ssd not being compatible?

The hard drive is a:
Lenovo - 41W0518 (128Gb)
11S41W0518Z1ZF9L937L62

The hard drive does not even show up. Trying to find something cheap that works.

A 128GB SSD will run about $100+ right now. This one should be fine as your lappy has standard SATA connections.

That drive should work just fine, the thing probably isnt formated yet.

If you have a desktop, use the desktop cables and plg it in, and see if your disk management can find it.

The problem with that is the power. I can fit a sata data connector to it, but it's a 1.8" drive, so I cannot connect regular power to it.
