Need to Boot to CD

i want to do an instalation of XP on a slave drive thats being switched up to the master - i guess all would be fine if i could boot from a cd or access the cd somehow to run the installation

the xp cd i have does not boot - since my comptuer is an hp i have no idea how to access the bios either

You can press the "Del" key right after powering up the comp to enter the BIOS settings.(could also be another key, look at the screen, it will tell you wich key)
Check for a settings called boot sequence or primary boot device and change it to CD-ROM.

delete opens up the operating system ( i have 3 diff os partitions) menu

I think hp is f1 or f2 for bios setup with f10 being a whole system restore
so you can restore it to the condition it was in when it left the store

that the option i would take, so you can keep your apps.

then i would use PM or ghost to trafer that data to the new drive

im downloading ultimate bood disc, but i guess its useless w/o the bios booting from cds


damn HP - i have the case and powersupply ( no tracking number ) ordered - as soon as i get the $ for a motherboard - this will no longer be an hp!

one of the top keys will let you boot into bios

HP and Gateway don't use delete for bios
