First, let me start off by saying hello to all of you in the forums, as you may already know I am new. I currently have a Dell Dimension 2400 system which I bought in February. I play Call of Duty on it to spend my free time, you may have also already guessed that I have to play it with minimal textures and visuals, and on the lowest resolution known to Dell 17'' monitors so I may be able to compete with other people's extremely fast reflexes. I'm sure all of you other gamers agree, this gets tiresome (if you've tried to play games on low end systems), and I am tired of it. This Christmas (I'm 14 years old), I am asking for supplies to upgrade my Dell so that I may be able to play my games on higher better looking textures and maybe even move on to higher end games, like Far Cry or Halo 2 (when it comes out for PC). I am thinking of getting a 2.4 or 2.8 ghz Pentium 4 processor, an X300SE Radeon 128mb video card, and 1gb of ram. I am wondering, would I need a stronger power supply after upgrading to those things? Thanks in advance, KnowNothing.

Hi. Welcome to the forums. I'd be glad to help you, but I have a couple questions. First off, how much money are you looking to spend as a maximum? Secondly, would you mind posting a link or something to your model so that we can see the specs, like how much RAM you have, current CPU, motherboard type, etc? Give as much info as you can. Thanks.

Thank you for replying, here is the link to the place where you may see the specs of my current system. Im not sure about price but here are the sites I'm planning to get my stuff from also.

He's right, you would need a new motherboard. I think it would almost be cheaper to buy from the ground up and put it together yourself. Upgrading the Dell would be very pretty expensive, seeing as how you're already replacing the CPU, RAM, Video Card, and Motherboard. How much money would you be willing to spend?
