if any of you guys remember, i was on these boards about a month ago telling you guys about my problem which was that i couldn't get any picture to show on my monitor. if you still don't know what i'm talking about do a search on my name and you'll find it. anyway, i fixed the monitor problem, but i found out the real problem is in my hard drive. i can get into dos and choose C:/ or A:/ through a startup disk. but i need to know how i can format or clone my hard drive. i have 2 hard drives. ones my dad's which is a 10 gig with xp pro. and mine is a 60gig also with xp pro, but its corrupted. but i would really just like to format it. can anyone help? is there anything i can type in dos to format the harddrive?

Yes, if your C: partition is using FAT32 file system.
It won't work if the filesystem is NTFS.

Try it and see if it works. Type "format c:"

Make sure the CD-ROM drive is set as primary boor device in your BIOS. Look for a setting called "primary boot device", "boot sequence" or sometthing similar. Don't forget to press a key when it says "press any key to boot from disc"

Maybe it is not bootable. have you used it befoe? did it work before?

Try downloading the 6 XP boot floppydisks and try with them.
