So I got home from college for Christmas break and I noticed the wifi on my laptop doesn't work like it should.
I know the wifi at our house isn't that bad, but I'm pulling < 1 Mb/s when it should be closer to 18/20; it worked great with my old laptop and nobody else (family or friends) have ever had problems with the wifi here. For some reason my computer simply cannot access the internet with any kind of speed. I don't know if maybe my wireless card is incompatible or doesn't work well or what. Anybody have any ideas what could be the cause of this?

I have an HP dv6 pavilion, in case you've heard of some similar situation or something...

Try updating your drivers from Intel's website.

You can see what wifi card you have by opening Device Manager and expanding the 'Network Adapters' section.
