restart challenge

Please solve this Challenge:
My system does not restart,
when restart is pressed, it shuts down well but after bios it shows
'operating system not found' .
But when shut down and started (by manually pressing power button) it works well...
what could be the problem...??

So when you press the restart button, the computer restarts and then you get an error saying "Operating System Not Found" But when you shut down the computer and then start up from a shut down, it loads with no problems?

What operating system are you running, have you installed any hardware lately? Did you build your computer or did you purchase it from a company? What happens when you try to restart the computer from the operating system (Start> shutdown>Restart)? If you shut down the computer after the getting the "operating system not found" error, does it start up fine? If you can answer these questions, plus any other information you might think is related, hopefully we can solve this. - Rube
