Need advice, Building power rig

Hey guys, am gonna be getting a new job soon and alot more pay so i figure its a good time to build a new pooter. I've kinda been outta the loop with the latest and greatest in computer parts bc of school, so i need some help in picking out the right parts

I want to get a new intel CPU that will last me for a good 3-4years, and willing to drop 500-600 bucks on one.

I also would like same usage from the GPU, and also willing spend around 500-600 bucks on one.

Am open to any and all suggestions.

I'm going to be quite frank, a 3770k will last a good long time but I went ahead with this simply because you said you are willing to drop 500-600. I can easily swap parts out for the 300 dollar 3770k instead.

Now, I want to be clear on a few things I have linked here.

For 1, a 6 core or even socket 2011 rig is not needed for hardly anything done today. I have a 3960x and a 3570k or 3770k will do anything you want to do just as quick, or if it's gaming do it quicker. The 3930k is essentially the same CPU as the 3960X.

16GB of RAM is not needed for any kind of gaming or 80% of anything you will do on a PC right now. I put 16GB of RAM in there simply so you could have quad channel on the platform. If you decide the 3770k will be enough I will drop the recommendation down to 8GB.

I put an 850w PSU in the mix just in case you want to SLI the 680 later on. I want to be clear, that isn't necessary either on both parts. A single 680 is perfectly fine for any game right now and 850w is overkill as you can run 2 680s on 750w easily. Just put a little extra leeway on there.

An SSD is required/recommended for all rigs these days. The slowness of the HDD must die and I want people to realize this. I added the 1TB for storage just in case as you weren't specific to your needs or budget. You can either raise that space or take away the HDD completely but that's up to you. You can also get a bigger SSD if you desire, again up to you.

Lastly is the case. That is totally personal preference. As long as you have a good ATX case you're good.

This rig comes in just under 2k at $1999.90 lol.
