tried changing jumpers on the motherboard (GIGABYTE "GA-7VT600 1394") and well, the first time it said it was 600something Mhz so then I turned it off right away, tried the jumpers oposite and then it showed 1.6GHz (which is what it is) but didn't boot so I turned off and set the jumpers back to auto and tried booting, still no boot. Doesn't let me enter setup and it doesn't boot..

:D

Did you put them back on 600?

Huh? The processor is a 1.6GHz Duron, should i switch it back to the way I first set it? Then try and change it back?? What do you mean?

so remove the battery?

*sigh*

so much work, I'll do it another day..

i hate batteries and jumpers, get a mobo/psu that does it for you lol.

clearing the CMOS will probably fix this. pop out the battery and wait like 5 secs. on some mobos you also have to short circuit the chip by switching the jumper, then reapplying it. then plug the battery back in and boot up. that's how i used to do it on my Epox. Abit just turn it off and turn it back on with the PSU...CMOS cleared:)
