Windows bootable USB

Heya,

Replaced my hard drive on my Asus GJ73JH that had failed with a new Seagate Momentus XT 750G/7200rpm. Got a copy of Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 off the internet. Made a bootable USB with WinToFlash/Winrar. Set bios to boot usb first but it just loads a black screen with underscore flashing on start up. I'm sure the USB was done right so kind of at a loss for what's wrong. Thanks for any ideas

It should work right if done properly.

This is what I originally did and still works to this day on every machine. The tool from Microsoft is equally effective as well though.

Thank you both for your replies. I guess the original guide I was using wasn't up to par. I used the Microsoft windows 7 Usb/Dvd download tool and it worked.
