This is my current system:

Motherboard: gigabyte 970A-D3
Op sys: windows 7 64bit
Processor: AMD FX-4100 quad-core : 3.6 GHz
8 gig ram
AMD radeon hd 6800 series graphic
Psu: corsair 500w, not sure on exact specs right now

I am planning on upgrading to this processor and motherboard:
Intel Core i7-3770K Ivy Bridge 3.5GHz (3.9GHz Turbo) LGA 1155 77W Quad-Core Desktop Processor Intel HD Graphics 4000 BX80637I73770K
ASUS SABERTOOTH Z77 LGA 1155 Intel Z77 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard
Are these components compatible? Also will I have to replace any other parts to install these? Any suggestions would be great

I would get a 3750k and ASRock Extreme 3 Z77. Photoshop is extensive, but even in 64bit mode it doesn't utilize that many threads. No point in getting the expensive motherboard either.

It will disable the IGP so that'll be fine. Just to be frank, I don't think you will see that much of an increase in gaming but productivity should be a lot better.
