Gaming rig for ~$700

Im actually getting this quote for my little brother (although Im due to build a new PC sometime soon as well).

He and his wife have a budget of around $700, but that budget has to include a monitor, speakers, keyboard and mouse as well.

He wants a PC that would be plenty for gaming, and something that can play most PC games just fine (I doubt he'll be playing Crysis 2 anytime though lol).

What setup would you guys recommend?

- Motherboard
- RAM
- GPU
- CPU
- Heat Sink/Fans
- PSU
- Case

A few years back, you folks helped me build my PC and it was greatly appreciated.

thats really asking a lot, to include monitor and accessories...

i just threw something together, but it was $710 without a gpu or keyboard mouse.

we could make something work +/- $825, but it still wouldnt be 'plenty' for gaming.

That's fair. I'm sure he would be a bit flexible in price if within a few hundred dollars.

Sure you can, just wont be as good as the OP is looking for. I just made an i3 650ti based rig with everything except an OS and speakers.
