I am not as savvy as you are, so I don't know what FPU is.
but this I know - the FX 4100 have 4 physical cores.

Actually no, the FX chips all have modules. The FX 4100 has 2 modules which has 2 "cores" a piece.

Honestly it depends what your doing but i would get another xfx 7770 to crossfire and if that doesn't make it satisfying then buy an FX 8350

i would crossfire, but the current 7770 takes up two slots. (and therefore covers my second PCIe...i think i have a second ) so i guess its a swap to a new card. i'll choose which one when i have monies...im just speculating in anticipation of monies XD.

On the subject of FX quad cores, the 4100 is a quad core, my bios tells me its two physical cores, two logical. so that's where i got that from

I would not go Crossfire. Marginal gains for lowend price really. Get a single card solution.

You're bios is right. The 4100 does not have 4 actual cores.
