Yeah. I can't lose my laptop. Shame, as I was thinking 'awesome, a big crt'. I remember the colour depth and motion handing of my old one, and the ability to use various resolutions without fuzziness. My current laptop has a 1600x900 res, which is a little too high for the gfx card (gt540m) on some games.

You can lower just about any game resolution. If the game will not allow it for some reason, then you can change it with display settings.
If you want to keep resolution the same, try lowering quality settings.
