Hey guys! I've been looking into creating a Home Theater PC for a few days and I'm not totally sure where to start. I think the most intensive thing I'll need it to do is play back HDTV video files. I've built a few computers before and I'm not opposed to doing it again, but I'm on a limited budget and unsure if they can be built or bought cheaper. Are there any boxes you'd recommend? I'd love to keep it in the vicinity of $300 or less if possible. Thanks!

If you have to buy everything then 300 is going to be a tight budget even for something so simple. Have you looked into buying a Raspberry Pi or an AIO PC?
The Raspberry Pi looks like it might be worth doing some digging on... I've got a lead on a Zbox with AMD 1.6GHz, 4GB Ram, 250 GB HDD, and a Radeon 6130 video card for $200... So far it's looking like that's probably my best bet. Anyone know if the processor/video card will be sufficient?

Yea it's good enough. I would use a tad extra money to put an SSD in it.
