Networking device in office.

Unplugged computer on network that hosted others

Computer was restarted

chkdsk ran automatically

after restart, slow

System Restore to earlier time

still slow

What would I want to run to try to get it back to where it was? It is very slow now and want to run system checks, which should I run?

it is slow in general, which is a huge bummer because they need it to run their business.

I was thinking a disk defrag would help....

Otherwise I'm at a loss.

I was thinking of runing a disk defragment.

Hi. What are the system specs? Is it slow when booting into Safe Mode? Also, how much free disk space is there on the Windows partition?

You might also want to check the system processes and their CPU & RAM utilisation using the Windows Task Manager (or Windows Performance Monitor if using Vista or Windows 7) in case of any process or processes which may be hogging system resources and causing degraded performance.

I'd also check the level of fragmentation on the Hard Drive and run a defrag if necessary.
