Updating...

I have a dell tower or an hp tower. And I was thinking of updating it. I have a budget of probably $200. What should I update and what shouldn't I?

They have not been booted up in awhile but all I know is that they are from the early 2000's.

Then I'm going to guess if they are that old they aren't worth updating at all.

Then how would I be able to recommend upgrades?
We need to know the Mobo, socket size, current RAM, Processor, GPU, HDD, OS, etc.

Any PC until ~2003 is really not worth upgrading, because chances are, the technology is obsolete. I'd sell them and buy a new PC.

If you're in to Windows 98se and old games they could be a fun project *points at sig*. Other than that, not really worth wasting the money on.
