XPS 8500 vs X51

Hi im new to this forum, just wanted some advice on buying a new computer.
Im currently looking at the Dell XPS 8500 and the Alienware x51. It would be for long term (4 years+) and i would be dabbling in gaming (gta, fm, skyrim). Here are the specs of each system:

Dell XPS 8500
i7-3770 3.40GHz 8MB
8GB DDR3 1600MHz
2TB 7,200RPM
AMD HD 7870 2GB GDDR5

Dell Alienware X51
i5-3450 3.50GHz 6MB
8GB DDR3 1600MHz
1TB 7,200RPM
Nvidia GT 545 GDDR5 (or GTX660 1.5GB for additional £100)
£799.00

What do you guys recommend?

If you are gaming then the X51 with the 660.

the only reason im being hesitant about the X51 is because its small it might heat up?

Both the 660 and the i5 are cool running parts. It should be fine.
