Good gaming build for shuttle(updated)

Can anyone help me get a list of all the things I will need to make this http://www.newegg.com/app/viewProductDesc.asp?description=56-101-426&catalog=23&manufactory=BROWSE in to a good gaming computer? So I can play Half Life 2 and Doom 3 with great graphics.

1.I will also need to do homework, so will I need to buy academic softwares and of course windows XP all saparately?

I will also use it for downloading a lot of songs and movies,

1. DVD/CD-RW Combo Drive
http://www.newegg.com/app/viewproductdesc.asp?description=27-151-051&DEPA=0

2. Samsung 160GB 7200RPM SATA Hard Drive, Model SP1614C, OEM Drive Only http://www.newegg.com/app/viewproductdesc.asp?description=22-152-015&DEPA=1

Will these 2 products work for the shuttle?
3.Do I need a pentium 4 processor?

So basically I need a ok school comp, good media center type of comp, and a awesome gaming computer all in one!

Help me out please

Thanks

Just looking at that thing makes me grin. It only has 2 PCI slots. One Rom bay and probably not room for two hard drives. That is NOT a gaming case. Its a space value case.

than can you suggest anything else?

I just remebered I still need to buy saparate monitor, keyboard and mouse, printer, and softwares which cost a lot!

uh oh

what about a decent gaming computer with a mix of media center.

I cant spend that much just for the comp.

Why do you need "acedemic software"? I've been in skool 11yrs. and have yet to use any kind of software to do my homework (besides M$ Office...which came with XP and is so common i dont consider it academic...it's essential)

Are you going to be moving a lot between college and home? If you are I say stay with the shuttle. It can be just as powerful as a full tower for 700 bucks. Get these though:

Barebone $192:http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=56-101-416&depa=0

Vidcard $238: http://www.newegg.com/app/viewProductDesc.asp?description=14-102-297&DEPA=1

Ram $155: http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=20-220-037&depa=1
I just bought that myself and it's awesome!

You have two choices on a CPU:
1. PM $439: http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=19-111-161&depa=1
2. P4 $182: http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=19-116-163&depa=1

HDD $81: http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=22-152-017&depa=1

CD/DVD $66.99: http://www.newegg.com/app/viewProductDesc.asp?description=27-131-234&DEPA=1

Optional:
Card Reader $36: http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=20-176-815&depa=1
Sound Card $109: http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=29-102-171&depa=1
CPU Cooler $23.99: http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=35-106-032&depa=0

Total With P4(no optionals): $914.99
Total With P4(all options): $1083.99
TotalWith PM(no options): $1171.99
Total With PM(all options): $1340.98

I think the best bet would be to get the P4 with just the Audigy 2 ZS Gamer. which is: 1023.99
If you want to go AMD(I suggest) get these:
Barebone $319: http://www.newegg.com/app/viewProductDesc.asp?description=56-101-457&depa=1
CPU $149: http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=19-103-499&depa=1

Sorry for going over budget, you can change the parts to make it cheaper.
