The power button only creates a short to turn the PC on. If it actually did break on you (unlikely) you can use something metal like a screwdriver or needle nose pliers to short the 2 jumper pins your power button connects to. It does the same thing.

Ahh okay then, seems simple enough!
Even if it broke, i could take the trigger part of the power button out of one of my old computers, and put it into there quite easily, couldn't i?

Yup. Anything that will cause that simple little short will turn your PC on.
