Im on a Dell Vostro 1510 and the blasted thing overheats when im using it in bed (No pun intended). Each time it overheats, it naturally switches off. Is there a way around this besides sticking it in the refridgerator

Take it apart and clean the heatsink out. The 1500/1510 tend to have a dedicated Nvidia card that can fail easily due to heat.

Blasting it out with it together, tends to not work, due to the heatsink design.

My laptop having same issue when using on bed.

But I found solution that when we put laptop on bed, Its fan not able to make cooling. So try putting it in a way that fan might not cover.

These laptops tend to be capable of putting up sitting on something like a bed rather well, the shutdown temp for them is around 83-85C, I never noted mine above 70C when on the bed while under load. The issue is the heatsink design and how easy it is for dust to collect.

i hate dell, same thing happened to my old one, it died on my after only a year and a half, worst experience i ever had.
