Help tweak this interesting $1000 Gaming Computer!

So I have a $1000 budget. But I will be reusing the following parts:

24" Monitor, 500GB HDD, NZXT Switch 810, Corsair AX750, Win 7 Professional 64-Bit, Keyboard, and Mouse

I want to overlclock! The computer will be mainly used for gaming, streaming, and video editing.

The games I plan to play are:

Skyrim
Battlefield 3
Modern Warfare 3
Diablo 3
Star Wars: The Old Republic

I would love to run these games on MAX settings. Come to think about it...I dont think ive ever ran a game on MAX settings...that is very depressing...

I want my computer to be "Future Proof" to the extent that all I really have to do is upgrade my GPU and not have to really worry about anything else.

I put together a list rather its good or bad please let me know and help me tweak it.

Total - $950 (After Shipping)

I know theres the Ivy Bridge out right now but the 2600K is on sale and plus I heard the Ivy bridges are very HOT when trying to Overclock.

I do plan to add Watercooling to the system one day but thats in the future (Maybe tax time)

Please help me tweak this build and and help give me a long lasting solid build!

I'd say try to squeeze a 7950 into the budget. You'll have a better time running those games on max then you will with a 7870. Also, if you wanna save a few more bucks, drop down to a 2500k. Same chips, OC's the same, but doesn't have HT, which is useless for gaming anyways. Also, you'll only need 8GB RAM. Use the money you'd save there towards the 7950. Also, for an SSD I'd go with a 128GB Samsung 830. I have both (the M4 and 830) and the I like the 830 better. Maybe it's just me.

Edit: Video editing. Ah. Should have read more carefully. Well, then the extra RAM and 2600k will help. How much editing? Hardcore, or family video type stuff?

Anything special about the Samsung SSD? I heard the crucial M4s are the fastest SSDs plus they have the most reviews on newegg.

Also I plan on editing all the recordings I do on my games.

As for the 7950...I'd love to get that GPU but I'm pushing my budget already and I kind of want a Headset as well. Plus according to Benchmarks, the 7870 plays Battlefield at max settings at 1920x1080 with an average of 60FPS which is still pretty good

The 830's have been consistently faster for me. As for the RAM, I'd say go for the 16GB then. And the 7870 isn't a bad card, it's just when you get the games all modded up or start playing on multiple monitors you'll regret not getting something a bit beefier

Also, don't go by reviews on Newegg.

Well I only plan to use 1 monitor, maybe up to 2 monitors to game on 1 and view forums or something on the other.

Do you think it would be more wise to go for the 2500k and a Z68 board and up to say a GTX 670? I plan to mostly stream games. Video editing isn't going to be a prime task.

Finally, I would love to add a headset to this budget of possible but don't know of any good ones. I plan to play a lot of FPS so I would need a decent one.

You'll have to ask someone else about a headset.

A 2500k/Z68 will fit your needs just fine and save you some cash. The 670 is a good card; a lot of forum members seem to like it.
