i'm new, and i have a question.

how can i tell if a motherboard and a processor are compatible?

I know this is a dumb question, but, I don't know a whole lot, and i gotta start somewhere right?

go to the manufacturers website, check the mobo manual if you have it, or just post it here and someone will tell you

Always look for a matching socket (eg AMD64 socket 939CPU needs a socket 939 mobo) But this doesn't always work, so just post it on TF and we will check for compatibility.
