Hey guys, it's been a while since I've been here! Like what? 2 years? So I've finally decided to upgrade my rig to something shiny and new. Its sole use is really going to be gaming, so any suggestions to my build along those lines would be great!

CPU:
Newegg.com - Intel Core i5-3570K Ivy Bridge 3.4GHz (3.8GHz Turbo) LGA 1155 77W Quad-Core Desktop Processor Intel HD Graphics 4000 BX80637I53570K

Mobo:
Newegg.com - ASUS SABERTOOTH Z77 LGA 1155 Intel Z77 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

Memory:
Newegg.com - CORSAIR Vengeance 16GB (4 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model CMZ16GX3M4A1600C9

Graphics Card(s):
2x Newegg.com - EVGA 02G-P4-2678-KR GeForce GTX 670 FTW 2GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card

Storage:
SSD - Newegg.com - OCZ Vertex 4 VTX4-25SAT3-128G 2.5" 128GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)
HDD - Newegg.com - Western Digital Caviar Black WD1002FAEX 1TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive

PSU:
Newegg.com - CORSAIR Professional Series HX750 (CMPSU-750HX) 750W ATX12V 2.3 / EPS12V 2.91 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS SILVER Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Case: (would it fit the SLI 670s?)
Newegg.com - Antec Three Hundred Illusion Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Monitor:
Newegg.com - ASUS VS Series VS238H-P Black 23" 2ms HDMI LED Backlight Widescreen LCD Monitor 250 cd/m2 50,000,000:1

Now I've thought about dropping the second GTX 670 and replacing that with a second SSD and second monitor. I would run the SSD's in RAID 0 (of course keeping all my important things on my data disk). What do you think of this idea?

Thanks again for the suggestions!

assuming you are reusing your dvd drive, looks.... awesome.

2 monitors is a great idea, not so sure on the ssd in raid, though.

I would personally drop the second GPU and spring for a larger capacity SSD, or if the controller supports TRIM under RAID like a FEW of the Intel RAID controllers do, throw two 128GB SSD's in zero for space and even more performance. Even if it doesn't support TRIM, as long as your drives support garbage collection you should be OK.

I would also, just because I am paranoid, get a second 1TB drive and put both those in RAID1... Just as a precaution...

Antec 300 would easily fit dual 670s, but there isn't a need unless you want to do 2D surround. I would get a single 680, Samsung 830 SSD, and 3770k.

Alright, so these are my changes:

Dropped one 670, and changed the other GTX670 to:
Newegg.com - OCZ Vertex 4 VTX4-25SAT3-256G 2.5" 256GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)

Changed the SSD to:
Newegg.com - OCZ Vertex 4 VTX4-25SAT3-256G 2.5" 256GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)

Changed CPU to:
Newegg.com - Intel Core i7-3770K Ivy Bridge 3.5GHz (3.9GHz Turbo) LGA 1155 77W Quad-Core Desktop Processor Intel HD Graphics 4000 BX80637I73770K

Added a second monitor:
Newegg.com - ASUS VS Series VS238H-P Black 23" 2ms HDMI LED Backlight Widescreen LCD Monitor 250 cd/m2 50,000,000:1

I'm unsure on the upgrade from the 670 to the 680....the 680 is just 4.5% better in performance for $120 more.

As for a second 1tb in RAID 1, there is no need. I have a 6TB RAID 5 array in my bedroom closet :D ...basically all this rig will have on it is the OS and the game files themselves...saves will be backed up as well as anything else important. Now that i'm going to nix the SSDs in R0, it shouldn't be a concern. Thanks for all the input guys!

Ah ok, I am just paranoid, I see mass capacity with out a backup listed and I freak out anymore. XD

Cant say i blame you there man. I back up all my important things in 2-3 locations and often inside a truecrypt vault :p

But yet you had a second 670 listed which is even more pointless for 400 dollars more :p

Really though, I understand. Was just a suggestion.

I really don't like the newer Vertex 4s. They are slower than Vertex 3 and for some reason don't settle with me. I'm going to have to side with Puddle this time and encourage a Samsung 830 x2.

I really just wanted the second gfx card for F@H more than gaming. Should have mentioned that.
