Acer Aspire One A0751H Black Screen

Hello,

I have an Acer Aspire One A0751H with Windows Vista. The hdd recently crashed and needed to be replaced. I was able to clone the partition using Partition Wizard and copy it onto my new hdd, as well as install the OS using the recovery DVDs sent by Acer. Here's the problem: my netbook will not boot. It opens with the Acer screen in which I can press F2 for the setup but after that I just get a black screen with the blinking cursor.

What I have tried:
1. I downloaded the latest BIOS onto a flash drive and tried the FN+ESC+ power with no avail.
2. Using my desktop, I have verified that the OS was successfully installed onto the hdd.

Help would be much appreciated!

Is the hard drive formatted to NTFS?
Try formatting the partition that you are trying to install windows onto.
Gparted is a great formatting program.

Yes the hard drive has been formatted to NTFS and I have tried reformatting the partition a couple of times as well.
