Hey all, I am looking into getting a new SSD.

As seen in my sig, I have 2 x OCZ Vertex SSD, one 30GB, the other 60GB.

What I plan to do, is use the new SSD to put Ubuntu 12.0.4 on this main system, where I can check if it is all compatible and all that. While not touching my Windows 7 SSD. In case I ever need to come back to it.

Now, since Ubuntu does not take up much room as Windows, I think a 30GB will go nicely. But as the 60GB are around the same price, I might as well get the 60GB.

Now comes the second question. Should I get a SATA III or SATA II? As I understand it, other than read/write speeds, there is really not a whole lot of difference between the two.

I like my last 2 x OCZ Vertex SSD, but if the price range or the failure rate is less, I am willing to go elsewhere.

I plan to buy this sometimes next month. So I know prices fluctuate, just to get a standpoint.

The Crucial M4 and Samsung 830 are basically the go to drives for most people at this point in time. AT equal prices the 830 is probably the better drive but it isn't a huge difference so I would get whatever is cheaper at the time.
