VGA to HDMI?

Would HDMI fix the resolution issues of VGA? Like for example my laptop screen is a rectangle and the SMART board is a square and the laptop screen changes it's resolution to match the SMART boards but would HDMI fix this? Would be rather interesting if it did lol

HDMI would do nothing to "fix" anything. It just just a video/audio/data cable.

Like c0rr0sive already said, no it wouldn't. I already told you why it was doing that in your other thread (the resolutions on the screen and SMART board are different because of hardware, basically).

The only way to convert VGA to HDMI is to buy an active converter, which usually run from $50 - $100+. They have to be plugged into an outlet as well in order to convert the analog (VGA) signal to digital (HDMI) correctly.

I was passing along, looking for answers to a really noob question, lol....... I have a XFX 6870 that has an hdmi output, and I'm thinking of purchasing this monitor: Samsung S22B350H, Newegg.com - SAMSUNG B350 Series S22B350H Transparent Red 21.5" 2ms GTG HDMI Widescreen LED Monitor 250 cd/m2 DCR Mega 8 (1000:1)

If I used an hdmi cable to connect both devices, will I be able to play the 1920x1080 it advertises?
