Not that you have to have a next greatest thing... It's just impractical.

You will gain nothing from an 8-core than you do from 4.

Maybe you'd better check your wallet. A 2500k and a 2600k in comparison the same. Just that the 2600K has hyperthreading. Yet the 2600k costs $100 more.

yea i might just wait a lil bit till i get around 1500$$ and build a really good machine wouldn't that be better ?

You would be better off keeping the 965 and grabbing a 680 lol. Or get a 3770k.

yea my main upgrade is the cpu so i would have to get an new motherboard no matter what i choose so =P and the gtx 680 will be awhile before that is in stock so

What are you playing that needs a new cpu anyway or doing in sense? to my knowledge not very many games are cpu intensive besides a few new ones, but the processor should be fine, just upgrade your video card and get a 670 or a 680, 100 dollars cheaper, same performance... Also I dont think you mentioned how much ram you have but ddr3 ram is cheap as dirt if you dont have 8gigs, just spend a lil and get that.
