I have been looking around on Newegg and trying to piece together a good computer, Budget around 1000-1200 or so, Mostly for use with games like Skyrim, and It should be able to play Mechwarrior Online when it comes out as well. For that an i5 would do? I was looking at the i5 3570k.

Also, I dont know what kind of computer it takes to do photo editing, but I would like be able to do editing with programs like Lightroom, or photoshop, stuff like that.

Here is what I have gotten so far.

CPU: Newegg.com - Intel Core i5-3570K Ivy Bridge 3.4GHz (3.8GHz Turbo) LGA 1155 77W Quad-Core Desktop Processor Intel HD Graphics 4000 BX80637I53570K

Motherboard: Newegg.com - GIGABYTE GA-Z77X-UD5H-WB LGA 1155 Intel Z77 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard or Newegg.com - ASRock Z77 Professional LGA 1155 Intel Z77 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard (Still not sure what makes a big difference between motherboards, some help in this area is appreciated)

RAM: ????? (I dont know what RAM would go with what Motherboard)

GPU: nVidia, Would appreciate further suggestions. Looking for good bang for the buck in the 300-400$ range, the close to 300 the better

HDD: Newegg.com - Western Digital Caviar Black WD5002AALX 500GB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive (or something similar performance wise from another company)

PSU: ????

Possible overclocking and SLI in the future.
Still leaves a case, and optical drive, but that wont be too much decision. Have I forgotten anything else?
More questions than answers I know, but it is just a rough idea for something, and I don't even know for sure when it wold be built.
Any help is greatly appreciated though! Thanks!

$1107 pick out a mid tower case for under a hundred bucks, and youll be on budget

i originally had the cpu you picked out in there, but to reign in the budget by a tad for a good case, i swapped it for the very capable i5 2500k.

couple of things to note if you can increase budget, have an OS, or reduce video card:

-an SSD would be very nice for OS and programs
-a HSF will be needed if you plan to overclock (which you should with the 'k' version)
-if you dont need all the features of that motherboard, you could probably save about $40 with one that has few less features (which you won't use anyway?)

edit: forgot optical drive $20 more or can you salvage your old one?
