I already ordered a cable that was the wrong pin set up, then I ordered an enclosure and that was wrong. What I have is a Toshiba HDD MK 2555GSX, 250 gig. The pins look like a comb. Where can I find the correct enclosure?

You talking about an old IDE laptop drive, right?

Like this?

Not that, I bought a USB 2.0 to SATA/IDE cable set, wrong pin connectors, also an enclosure that turned out to be wrong. It is from a Dell Inspiron 1720 (2006).

That doesn't help us. Get us a picture of it or something. That IDE converters you got is probably for desktop IDE. It's a little different. My link above is to laptop IDE enclosures.

Are those bare pins? They shouldn't be. Should have a plastic mold around it for the SATA cord and power to attach to.

Maybe its just the angle.

Just found the answer, I had to remove the clip(flat pins) Dell attached to it, regular SATA cables were able to connect to it.
