little info needed please

have aquired 2x amd 6870 graphics cards, however my current build will not allow them to run in crossfire (775 platform) so now the new z77 boards are running pcie3 will there be any issues running these pcie2 cards in one of these, thinking it might drop them down to 8x rather than 16x. or can anyone steer me towards something that would work so i can have these running at full flow. main use is for bf3 and some other games.
any help would be great.

Z77 and 8x PCI-E 3 will be fine for your cards. You will need DDR3 and a new CPU though.

thank you very much, i could try to get sandybridge abit cheaper i supose but the prices are quite good on ivybridge at the minute it might be better going for that ..
now the search begins for a motherboard that has good pcie configuration.

There are tons so good luck finding one you like
When you find one go ahead and link it here. If you plan on overclocking I suggest SB, but if your funds are good enough then a 3770k would be a great step up.
