Right I'm not totally up to date with new tech, I may well be buying this in 2 months. I hear Ivy bridge may cause current I5's to reduce in price slightly, but I haven't heard anything which would make any components have better alternatives so I'll post the build now while I see what my finances will be like.

Obviously I'm English with the currency, if you wish to link to alternative components. I'll probably buy them from Aria PC - Computer Hardware, Components, Monitors.. at lowest prices , Computer Components, PC, Laptop, PC Monitors and Computer, PC Components Specialists - CCL Computers - CCL Computers and Computer hardware, components & gaming PC retailer Overclockers UK, most likely the first link.

I will likely overclock a little, but I'm not big on OCing, just so you're aware that extreme cooling and the like isn't a necessity.

I need the OS, but don't need monitor, keyboard & mouse and speakers.

PSU:

Case: ARIANET StealthX midi (cheapo case basically, I've seen it under other brand names) https://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Com...e-R+Black+Midi+Tower+Chassis+?productId=47777

No real point adding the optical drive, I'll just get which ever seems the best deal at the time. I'd also buy an OEM of Windows 7 home premium 64-bit.

Right so I've probably missed something glaringly obvious off that last but the full build saved in my online basket comes to £830. I'd like to keep around the £800 mark, not dead on but under £850 ideally.

The main areas I'm looking for advice on is the mobo, I know z77 is a more updated option, though someone told me it might not make much difference with my build, so I'm unsure there. Then also the PSU, I've heard OCZ isn't the most popular PSU brand.. so any advice there.

IB has been delayed about 4 times and it'll take some time before the SB CPUs get reduced as they are still selling like hot cakes. In other words, go with the 2500k.

Build looks fine to me. Probably be told to change the board and PSU but with personal experience they should be fine.
