First.. Is it better to buy a desktop from a company like dell or hp.. or build your own?

If I do build my own with the configurations above, what graphic card should I pick to have a comfortable gaming experience playing with high settings (Leagues of legend, Knight online, Wow, runescape...)? Also, would it be possible for me to just change some of the components to get a final price of 800$ instead of 1k?

Looks like a solid build, but you could cut the price down some with a basic (nice) case; Ditch the SSD and go for a regular HDD (for now); Do you really need a flash card reader? and depending on what GPU you would get, that PSU might not be capable enough. I would suggest at least a 550W minimum for most cards.

Of course people are going to say build. But to be honest that depends on you. I would look at some combo builds if you want to DIY it
for example: Newegg.com - Computer Parts, PC Components, Laptop Computers, LED LCD TV, Digital Cameras and more!

I hate Dell desktops, so I am going to say stay away, and I have not had much luck with HP as well. But that is my opinion.

What is a combo built? Buy a computer pre-made and add some components?

Combo DIY is a do it yourself kit that more or less comes with all the components you'll need.

The graphics card you can get is completely dependent on your budget.
Is your budget $800 or $1,000?

Use ncix newegg and or directcanada to get the best deals. Newegg blows as it costs a kidney to ship.

I usually buy from ncix, but use the pricematching and shopbot.ca to save a ton of money.

Where are you anyway? prov/city?

Combos aree NOT DIY Kits. Combos are, you buy a gpu and motherbhoard and save 2 bucks more, than each alone.
