Blue screens.Please help!

Ok. Did everything that you guys told me. Now I'm trying to somehow install AMD Catalyst older version. Right now it shows that I am using version 12.3.


Downloading AMD Catalyst 12.1 preview. I think that was my old driver. Sure hope it will fix the problems.


Ok I'm giving up. I can't download it. The file gets corrupted every single time. I'll just format my hard drive and re-install Windows 7. And never update AMD drivers.

pity to hear you didnt get it fixed...Personally i think it had to do a lot with your viruses as well

Well yeah. I'd have to get rid of the virus. Then I could download the driver too. But there is no way I see myself getting rid of it because I get confused easily.

Let me put it THIS way...Seeing you want to format and redo Windows, why not give "Combofix" a shot? All you have to do is ( IF your pc will allow to download )..
1) Download Combofix
2) Restart PC but KEEP ON TAPPING THE F8-KEY! ( doesnt matter WHAT the pc might bring up, just hit "enter" if something else pops up, but IMMEDIATLY carry on hitting the F8 key
3) You will enter a BLACK screen
4) Choose "Safe mode WITH Network"
5) Run combofix ( might take a while, but read EVERYTHING it asks you )
IF it so happens that Combofix want to restart, LET IT DO SO BY ITSELF...BUTTT
as SOON as your PC starts, start tapping the F8 key again ( we want to enter Windows the SAME way SAFE MODE + NETWORK )
6) Let Combofix finish
7) Restart PC
8) HOPEFULLY EVERYTHING IS BACK TO NORMAL

Can't even enter safe mode with networking. It freezes when checking the file AVGIDSH.SYS and some weird groovy colored lines start running on top of the screen. And that is all that happened for the next 10 minutes.
I think it'd be better if I re-install windows before breaking my system because I am no specialist.

To be frank....in YOUR case....i would rather do a complete format then...No use just re-installing, as your corrupted/infected 3rd party files might still be executed ( as well as the viruses )...and you're back to square one. It seems as if you can enter windows normally, so just backup whatever you want/can...and start over from scratch.

Instead you may have to buy a whole new hardrive as the old one that you are currently using appears to have approx 40 bad sectors and that's where a virus will lurk because anti virus's don't look in bad sectors only the good ones as they can only read clean data not bad

Ok. Figured out the problem.

After re-installing Win 7 and doing a complete format to the hard drive the system was still having BSOD-s and I looked into the reports once more. Asked for some help from my friend and we thought that the RAM was to blame in this situation. Borrowed a memtest CD from my friend and ran the test. As it turned out one of the RAM sticks was having errors. The first RAM stick had an critical error at 2GB and the other RAM stick started to have small errors at 730MB and till the end memtest registered 60 thousand errors on the RAM stick. Going to swap out the RAM sticks and everything will be back to normal.
