new hard drive

Right, i can install a hard drive no problem the bit i dont get is what do i do next. When its all connected do i have to put something on the hard 1st? Will the system put something on itself? Or is it just a case of plug in and go?

Pretty much plug and go. Windows will detect the drive and assign it a letter. If it needs formatting then you can do that from within Windows as well.

If you ever use an older hard drive.. you will need to check the jumpers on it. The easiest thing would be to set it to Cable Select.... just an FYI
