Why won't this Creative Sound Blaster sound card:

Fit into any these PCI slots:

It just sits on top of the PCI slot like so, applying pressure won't make it click into place:

Seems it just doesn't want to fit, I obviously don't want to force it too hard because I don't want to break the card or mother board. Any ideas why it doesn't fit, am I missing something?

A lot of times, the slot won't always be a nice (loose) fit. I have had to forcefully install many a PCI card. Unless you pound it in with a hammer or something like that you aren't going to break the slot. SO give it a good wiggle while trying to insert the card and it should go. I don't see why it shouldn't go in.

On some card installs you may have to push a bit hard, same with RAM installs.
I like to push the corner down nearest the PCI bracket, then push the back of the card in, lastly checking that they card is in completely and evenly.

I've had this Problem many times before. Ram is a common one with me. Hoppefully you've Fixed the problem now. But when it comes to RAM of the DDR Generations I click one end in and work my way up the Stick for fully slot it in place. Should be the same principal with the Sound Card.
