My nephew wants to get a gaming laptop, but he wants to spend no more then $1000. We're thinking of finding something for something like $800-850, and then he can use the rest to load up on Steam games. What is a good laptop? I've been looking, but models like Alienware are overhyped and expensive. He doesn't need to play Crysis maxed, just games like: Portal 2, L4D, RE5, Skyrim, and so on - nothing "intense". I'd like him to run most games at max.
What are some good brands? I prefer not to even let him near HP since I've had nothing but issues.
