AMD Athlon 64 Socket 754 and Socket 939. Which one are better for what type of applications?

socket 754 was made for early Athlon 64's, and now supports some Semprons. it doesn't support dual channel memory and has a 1.6GHZ FSB
AMD are moving their CPU's into socket 939, which as Nubius said support dual channel RAM. socket 939 also has a 2GHZ FSB

lol I just got here, TheMajor said it supports dual channel :p

Very nice to know I'm on your mind apokalipse :p

So from the looks of it Socket 939 is going to be the way to go if some one want's an upgrade path.

why would you overclock an Athlon 64FX. BEE heappy, it's already fast enough :D a person like me might overclock, but not that chip (sorry, I just wish I had a 64FX)
