Default Portable with slight gaming capabilities

Hello, I am looking for a portable computer that I can play TERA, Rift, or EQII on. I have a Desktop that manages Rift and EQII just fine, even better than fine. However, I spend a lot of time out of state, and I am finally tired of being gameless, I just don't want to spend a ton of money for a portable computer.

My price range is around $600, I know that I won't be able to play with my graphics sliders turned up, but I also don't want to look at a slideshow. I am 100% ok if I have to play on the worst of the worst quality, just so long as the games play with as little stuttering as possible.

Here are my two candidates, let me know what you guys think, and let me know if you know of any better deals that I should AIM for or consider. (This was my choice)

Inspiron 17R Laptop (This is what a friend recommended)

I was leaning toward the Gateway because of the stand alone GPU, but my friend had a few other things to say.

"My personal suggestion would be one of these three. Dell has great customer support and they are using Intel based processors, which are dominating the market right now. The biggest difference between the three are i3, i5 or i7. Naturally, the i7 will be the fastest, but all three would do well for gaming. Even the i3 would be able to run TERA with ease. And all come with 6GB of RAM and a 1.6GB video card. Very good for the money.

That Gateway is just worse. Slower and inferior processor, less RAM and a video card that boasts 3GB of vRAM? That tells me that video card will force system RAM to act as vRAM. That means the card, itself, is actually only 512MB or 1GB. And it's the same price as the Dell. I think the choice is obvious. [=P] "

Give me some feedback, let me know what you think.

Thanks in advance!
