Hey, I was aiming to help a friend awhile back so I asked for a hand. The build itself is for the most part finished I just need help finding a suitable hard drive. Now he is ready to buy I just would like some support as the Tech Forums have always been very helpful for my PC questions. The original price when I priced it at the start was fairly cheaper at the time, the limit would be best to stay around $800/$900 (but $50 to $70for S&H+insurance).
Current Build is:
CASE = RAIDMAX Altas ATX-295WB Black Steel - $50.00
MB = ASRock Z68 Extreme3 Gen3 LGA 1155 Intel Z68 HDMI SATA 6Gb - $150.00
GPU = GIGABYTE GV-N560OC-1GI GeForce GTX 560 Ti (Fermi) 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 - $240.00
PSU = OCZ ModXStream Pro 600W Mod. with Intel Sandybridge Core i3 i5 i7 and AMD Phenom - $80.00
CPU = Intel Core i5-2500K Sandy Bridge 3.3GHz (3.7GHz Turbo - $230.00
RAM = G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 - $47.00
Drive = ASUS DRW-24B1ST/BLK/B/AS Black SATA 24X - $23.00
HD = ??
TOTAL = $820 (w/o HD)
Anything not work with this build please tell me as I havent put my nose into PC's in a few years. Thanks
Note: He has a Win7 ready so not needed. Just a hand finding an HD and if possible anything to help lower this price. He did have his mind set on the 560ti as well as the i5 but I'm open to changing his mind if anyone can help. The type of games he plays are SC2/Battlefield series/MMO's(star wars/WoW) on high/ultra settings. When this build was put together awhile back it had alot more rebates which saved alot, now the build seems a heck of alot more.
P.S. Hell, I just called him he said his limit is still 800 but can max at 900, BUT would prefer to stay as cheap as possible. If you can come up with a great build not breaking him, even if its a new PC build I'll take it into consideration
