If you get that case, which is phenominal, be warned that due to its size, the cpus dont get great air. Picking up the mesh side panel would be verysmart.

Since youre not overclocking.... yet, it may be a non-issue.

3T is saddly like $50 more than 2T so why not get it now.

And that 980 won't fit in an x79 mobo.. theyre 2011 socket.

If you look closer, one is a green 2Tb. Meant for media. Might as well make this a real all around entertainment center. i picked components that maxed out performance per dollar on a high budget, not a max out the high budget build. if the guy just wants to throw his money for a computer that will seem old/average in 3 years otoh...

also, the guy had a 5k budget, i cut it in half and youll knock me for an extra green hdd? kk

I consider myself an avid gamer, but my entire gaming collection does not even scratch 3+ TB. You must keep DOS logs of every action your OS takes.

In all seriousness, I do like that build. I think I would have to upgrade the CPU, though. I don't overclock, so I can use all the power I can get. Maybe I could get it as an OC'ing test platform.

If the OP is willing to spend $5000 on a build, why are you even including a green drive, and knocking his budget down? Here's my take on what build he should get:
