I didn't know 4x 7970s would really make that big a difference over 2x in today's games.
But if thats the case can replace these components in my build:

SSD: $180 120GB Corsair Force GT
PSU: $270 Seasonic X-1250

Just saying, having the revodrive will absolutely maul any system that does not have one. You could upgrade it to a 480gb revodrive if you wish, however that would push it over $5000, so maybe if you get 2 7970's and a 480gb revodrive. This would work. Either way it will be extremely fast.

$5,000, tight budget don't you think?

CPU: $1,050 Intel i7 3960X
MB: $450 Asus Rampage IV Extreme
RAM: $200 16GB Corsair Dominator 1600/CAS7
ODD: $20 Sony Optiarc 24x DVD/CD Burner
HDD: $130 1TB WD Caviar Green
SSD: $1,100 480GB Vertex 3
GPU: $1,200 XFX 7970 Black Edition (x2)
PSU: $200 OCZ ZX 1000W
Case: $210 Cooler Master HAF X
Cooler: $120 Corsair H100

Total = $4580 (not including rebates/combos/shipping)

This is actually pretty much the same build I devised. The only differences would be aesthetic. Great build, Roark. Thank you to everyone who made suggestions.

Wow didn't know about the revodrives... How about 2800 read and write? The future of SSD's...
Newegg.com - OCZ Z-Drive R4 CM88 3.2 TB PCI-E PCI-Express 2.0 x8 MLC Enterprise Solid State Disk ZD4CM88-FH-3.2T

Heh. I think that just might bring the total build price a little ((><) space between the angle brackets) outside the budget. However, I will investigate the Revo drive. At first glance, I have to say I am impressed. I'll post an update to the build later.

Compared to the Vertex 3 480gb there is about a $300-$400 difference in price. However you could just get a 240gb Revodrive, that should be enough for most thing's you would use anyway :)

$2801 ...

I consider myself an avid gamer, but my entire gaming collection does not even scratch 3+ TB. You must keep DOS logs of every action your OS takes. :)

In all seriousness, I do like that build. I think I would have to upgrade the CPU, though. I don't overclock, so I can use all the power I can get. Maybe I could get it as an OC'ing test platform.
