Hey everyone I'm new to this forum but not new to the computer build scene. Right now I'm having an issue with a new computer I built. Everything hardware I bought from Newegg. Here are my specs.

OS - Windows 7 x64 Professional
CPU - AMD FX-6100 Zambezi 3.3GHz Socket AM3+ 95W Six-Core Desktop Processor FD6100WMGUSBX
MOBO - MSI 890FXA-GD70 AM3+ AMD 890FX SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard
Graphics - PowerColor AX6870 1GBD5-2DH Radeon HD 6870 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.1 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card with Eyefinity
Memory - G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-12800CL10D-16GBXL
PSU - Rosewill BRONZE Series RBR1000-M 1000W Continuous@40°C, 80Plus Bronze Certified

So my issues is that every time I try playing a game or surf the Internet using either IE or Firefox my graphics card drivers contantly crash with this error.

Event ID - 4101
Display driver amdkmdap stopped responding and has successfully recovered.

I've searched on multiple forums including this one for over a week now and can's seem to find a fix for it. I've tried Red Faction Guerrilla, Need For Speed Shift, and Battlefield 3. All games will crash when trying to load the menu except for Need for Speed Shift ( I can actually play this game fully). When browsing the Internet it constantly crashes, mostly when I open a new tab or click on a download link and it needs to open a new window. I can do things inside of Windows all day without any issues as long as its not a game or an Internet browser. I've tried re-installing Windows about 4 times, tried every AMD graphics driver from 11.6 to 11.12, tried using only 1 stick of RAM at a time (tried each one by themselves and in different slots), re-seated my graphics card and also tried placing it in a different PCI-e slot, and tried different power calbels from my PSU. When I've uninstalled the drivers and used the Windows VGA drivers I have no issues with browsing the Internet, but obviously can't play games using those drivers.I don't have another PC to test stuff out individually for this is my first desktop in over 4 years ( I've had nothing but laptops for the past 4 years). Right now all I'm looking for is something else to try before I try to get Newegg to give me a refund for my graphics card and I buy a Radeon HD 5770 cause that is one listed on MSI's test list for my motherboard. I've read forums about other's having a AMD 890FXA chipset with a Radeon HD 6870 and they worked so I don't see why mine shouden't. I haven't RMA'd my graphics card but it only gives me issues when I have the AMD drivers loaded on it so I don't think it's an actual problem with the card. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Hmm, try this first, download drive sweeper, next reboot into safe mode and take out any attempted installs of hd 6870.
Reboot again and go to safe mode with netowrking, download catalyst 10.2 or 11.1.
I have a feeling your card might be buggy, but if it does not do well, after that, please reply back here quickly.
You'll have rma the video card to the manufacturer, if thats what you want, forget newegg and try to get a replacement through the company.

AMD Radeon

I'm looking mighty hard at sapphire again, my hd 5450 wasn't much, but it had some good quality.

Take care then.
