dv7-32us Seagate 500GB external HDD not read through 3.0 port

I just bought the dv7-32us, I also own a 500GB external HDD that i use to fix computers and backup all my data and others data, and when I plug it into the 2.0 usb hubs on the right of the laptop it tells me the device can perform faster on 3.0, my HDD says its 3.0 but when i plug it into the 3.0 it does nothing it doesnt detect the Hard drive in the device manager but the hard drive is on when its pluged into 3.0 usb. Any help??

Did you install drivers for the USB3 port? Do you see it in Disk Management?
